Love’s No Distance — UFCH Redirected 10 Cases to Non-Covid Restricted Areas
The Spring slipped away while some of cities are in “COVID quarantine” …
Due to the outbreak of the epidemic in Beijing, Shanghai and other places, Beijing United Family Hospital and Shanghai United Family Hospital are limited in receiving patients, which has caused not a small impact on the relief work of the foundation.
#Routed Cases to Other Areas#
With Beijing and Shanghai suffering from COVID restrictions, UFCH’s medical relief efforts were also impacted. To still provide urgent services to those that need it, we rerouted cases to other geographical areas, who happily welcomed our patients and took excellent care of them.
In the past few weeks, we successfully arranged 10 major cases to Guangzhou United Family Hospital. The treated patients mostly suffer from physical abnormalities, orthopedic and ophthalmology issues.

“Most of these patients have been waiting for treatment and we were all anxious that the hospitals were unable to carry out the surgery due to the restrictions. These children suffer from growth and developmental problems so we typically try to arrange their needed care as soon as we can”, said Dr. Maria He, UFCH’s Medical Advisor.
“So we had to get creative and try something different for these patients. That’s how we came up with the idea to redirect cases to GZU.”
