Medical Care for Children from Inner Mongolia
With the guidance from Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) participated Beijing Mongolia Support Program. So far, UFCH has helped two children from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia.
Qi Qi
Qi Qi has congenital deafness and speech disorder, he lives in a silent world from birth and unable to speak like normal child. In general, the earlier intervention, the better outcome of children’s hearing and speaking will be. At the same time, this also can positively influence children’s physical and mental development. UFCH reached out to Qi Qi’s family and supported him to complete cochlear implant surgery in time. Qi Qi is undergoing speech rehabilitation, and his hearing and speech functions are recovering gradually.
Xiao Yu
Xiao Yu is a child with leukemia. He had transplant rejection and cystitis three months after from his bone marrow transplantation. These were improved after some treatment. In a sudden, he fell into convulsions, coma, confusion and other complications, so had to have emergency medical interventions. Since then, every emergency medical intervention is a race against death. In order to have medical treatment for Xiao Yu, his parents tried their best to raise money, hoped that a miracle could happen. UFCH extended a helping hand to this distressed family after learnt about Xiao Yu’s health condition and the family situation, to help them overcome the current difficulties.
