Pink October: A Warm Retrospective

A small pink ribbon carries boundless care and strength, bathing every October with warmth and hope. This love transcends mountains and oceans, quietly reaching every woman who deserves to be seen and protected.

For years, the United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) has been committed to women’s health programs—providing breast and cervical cancer screenings and treatment support for women in remote communities and among urban female workers. This Pink October, we are deeply moved to see more and more people joining hands in this relay of care, lighting the path forward for women’s health together.

Pink  Run-PLAYPRO

A run infused with love and faith makes every step more meaningful. Participants from different countries and communities donned soft pink attire and ran side by side to support for women’s health.

Dr Zhai Mengyao, from the Breast Surgery Department at Beijing United Family Hospital, also attended the event, sharing professional insights on exercise and breast health in a warm and practical health session.

That bright shade of pink blended beautifully into Beijing’s autumn light. From the city’s running track, it flowed like a current of warmth—carrying courage and hope to women in need.

All proceeds from the tournament were donated to UFCH in support of women’s health programs.

Spike Against Cancer Charity Volleyball Game-International School of Beijing (ISB)

At the International School of Beijing (ISB), the volleyball court came alive with cheers, whistles, and laughter – echoes of a community united in purpose. The “Spike Against Cancer” charity volleyball tournament was in full swing.

Teachers and students proudly wore vibrant pink jerseys, rallying together with every pass, spike, and dive. Off the court, the ISB community continued to show up – purchasing charity tickets and pink-themed merchandise, turning support into tangible impact.

All proceeds from the tournament were donated to UFCH in support of women’s health programs, a powerful reflection of ISB’s values in action.

Play for Purpose Charity Volleyball Game-Western Academy of Beijing (WAB)

Another volleyball game in aid of charity took place in the Western Academy of Beijing’s gymnasium. Teachers and students wore pink tops and ran back and forth on the court, encouraging each other. Their sweat was a silent yet steadfast show of support. Every clap and cheer from the sidelines seemed to say, ‘We are with you.’

The funds raised at the event were fully donated to UFCH’s women’s health programmes, turning the energy of sport into practical protection.

This October, we came together in the name of love, united by a common belief. From running on the track to diving for saves on the volleyball court, every participant contributed to a collective strength, and every donation offered hope for a life.

We would like to thank all the runners, players, teachers, students, volunteers and donors. It is you who continue to extend the mission of the pink ribbon, making screenings, treatments and health education possible.

Love and action never walk alone. May we continue to join hands and pass on this warmth.
